Unable to press and hold a phone number to dial

I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and I used to be able to press and hold on a number in a text or email and it would pull up the phone app with the number populated so that I could make a call.  It no longer does that....is that a setting that has to be set?

@jestr623: If the number is in a valid format, then it should be highlighted in blue and underlined when appearing in a text or email. For the Samsung Messages app, you can tap on the number to populate it in the Phone app, and for Google Messages you can tap on the number to show a pop-up menu (Call, Copy, Share and Message).

Yes it is highlighted in blue but nothing happens when I click on it.  I tried restarting my phone but still the same.
