Hi, I can't delete or move any emails. It says my storage is full but won't let me make room by deleting the hundreds of mails without them coming straight back. Is this a phishing scam to make me pay for more storage ??

Chances are that you Hotmail is a one way sync, so deleting them on you phone doesn't delete them from online.

I would browse to Hotmail and delete emails there

It's unlikely that you are experiencing a phishing scam. The issue you are describing is a known problem with MS Hotmail, where deleted emails sometimes reappear in the inbox or other folders. This is due to a bug in the Hotmail system that Microsoft is working on fixing.

In the meantime, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Empty the Deleted Items folder: Right-click on the Deleted Items folder and select "Empty Folder". This will permanently delete all of the emails in the folder.

  2. Delete emails in small batches: Try deleting emails in batches of 20-50 at a time. This may help to prevent the emails from reappearing.

  3. Use a different browser: Try deleting emails using a different web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

  4. Use the Outlook desktop app: If you are still having trouble, you can try deleting emails using the Outlook desktop app.

If you have tried all of these steps and you are still unable to delete emails, you can contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

Thank you very much. I got round the issue by going onto Hotmail on my P.c. and deleted the unwanted files from there. I think it was Microsoft trying to stitch me up for an extra storage package. I pay them quite enough without that. ; -)
