When troubleshooting an issue, I was required to do a master reset, so before I did this, I did a backup on the Samsung Cloud. I was then able to restore this onto my phone with no issues, all my apps/wallpapers/settings and photos etc were carried across. The master reset hadn't solved the issue so it was then found that the phone had to be sent in for repair. I repeated the backup steps and did the master reset, foolishly without checking on another phone, assuming that it had worked correctly as it had the first time. However this backup was tiny in comparison and as a result I have lost all of my photos (amongst other things, but this is the thing I am most upset about). I am borrowing a phone (also Samsung) temporarily while my phone is in for repair and only this 2nd incomplete backup is appearing in my options to restore the data. However, if I log into my cloud using the Internet browser, I can see the original larger backup saved as a "temporary" backup. How can I access this?! Samsung support don't seem to be able to help and the temporary backup is due to expire in about 10 days and I don't know if I will get my phone back before then. Can someone please help! I'm really gutted if I lose all my photos, especially when it is all within sight but I don't know how to get it!! 😭

This is what I see in the Internet browser, but the temporary file doesn't appear in my list of options to restore from the cloud. 1734376517281.jpg

Download smartswitch on the PC and phone. Connect and see if it gives the option.
Or
Maybe it might give on your own phone.

Ideally best to backup on a cloud storage like google One.

@LaurLaur as the Samsung Cloud does not back up photo's any longer Samsung introduced OneDrive.

Look there.

Personally I use Dropbox.

I move my Samsung Gallery across using SmartSwitch.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

@BandOfBrothers I had read that (and in theory had also synced to onedrive but it had only copied a handful of photos), but they are there in the temporary backup? 🙈1734418383017.jpg

I will try that on a PC, thank you. I'm hoping I get my phone back before the temporary file expires to be able to try that!

I just wanted to update that I managed to access the temporary backup when I got my phone back... not great that there was no alternative way to access it!
