@SuzJ46: Sadly the Galaxy S3 Mini does not feature a Recycle Bin for the Gallery app. If you head to Apps > My Files > Images, are the photos still present in this location? You may also wish to sign in Google Photos via an internet browser, to see if the photos have been archived here: https://www.google.com/photos/about/
