m31 not able to use the middle volume controller

I use m31s and have some good pair of earphone but am not able to use the volume controller in them I have talked to the customer care and they told me to go to the service centre and they say only some earphones will work not all I used to have s9 and the earphones work there but not on this phone

i am having the same problem. i have an adaptor I got with my samsung tablet for normal headphones and tried it on my note 20 and it just keeps saying usb device not recognised
