how do you turn the volume up when I'm on the phone

Hi can any help I have a new Samsung A21s & i have to turn up the volume on my phone when I'm speaking to someone as i can hardly hear them tried the button on the side but it makes no difference

I got the same phone a couple of days ago and the side button volume works fine on a call. it's quiet you begin with though.

click the volume up button then click the down arrow and change the volume
