Hi all, I recently picked up a "true" 5G signal, so I performed a speed test. I found that I had speeds in excess of 1.2 Gbs, so far so good.
I later asked my service provider if they could explain why my speed test used almost 5 Gb, they could not.

If you're getting 1.2Gbs. Then a 4 second test would use 4.8GB of data over the 4 seconds I would of thought.

Just don't do a speed test then, what ever app your using to do it with.

I did do best of 3.
Apparently ,when you get a 5g signal ,you may not have a "true " 5g signal as in rural areas a 5g may just be a tweaked 4g signal offering a slightly faster speed. However, your phone will display 5g. I have switched off 5g because I don't seem to see the point of such a data hungry signal. Is this what we were promised?

As for not doing a speed test, what if you were watching YouTube, even if you had 50gigs of data, how long would that last?

I use Wf-Fi so I never take any notice.

How will we all survive when the world goes fully 5g. I only have 5 gigs a month, never used more than 3.

Speed tests have always used a chunk of data @Greeve

I receive 125gb a month which rolls over on o2 Payg so I'm good.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
