Voicemail notification

How do I get rid of the voicemail notification from my phone? It won't go away even though I haven't any voicemail messages and I accidentally touch the notification when I open my phone. Very frustrating.

No I still have the problem. I have just learned to ignore it and try not to swipe it.

I think I solved it 😁
I called my voicemail, went to main menu and changed the way I receive notification to txt message and walla! It's disappeared. I'm on O2 and I pressed * and then 5 to get to this option.

I am on o2 as well and it worked!!! The notification disappeared as soon as I enabled text notification! Thank you! This whole time it was o2's fault 🙀.

I'm also with EE and had this issue for a few days. I managed to get rid of it after deleting the voice message, which brought me back to the main menu. I selected "voicemail settings and features", and then turned off EE's "Enhanced voicemail alert". Hope this works for you too.

Hi Indi, thank you for that.. it worked a treat! It's been driving me nuts for weeks. 

I'd tried leaving a message from someone else's phone but that didn't actually even show up on voicemail, and still didn't make any difference but I took your advice and left myself a message and how presto it's cleared, so thank you very much for taking the time to post an answer 😊
