Hi. Can anyone tell me why I can watch utube videos at 1440p on my base s21? I thought the screen was only 1080p. Or does it just say 1440p when in reality it's is only 1080p. Thanks.

1080p gets downscaled to 1440p looks better that way

don't know the answer to that because as far as specs show the s21 and plus should only get upto 1080p but if your getting 1440p then that's good although you probably won't see much difference between 1080p and 1440p on phones.

yes it's surely just playing at 1080p and you tube is showing 1440p in the box. you're right that's why I wasn't bothered about upgrading from the s10. the screen is too small to notice the small dip in resolution. for me anyway.😂.

Probably it was uploaded at 1440p.

If you are getting the 1440p videos then you get the added benefit of more data bandwidth, so in theory you should be getting slightly better video quality over the 1080p stream.
