Text message app not appearing

Hello all,

So I seem to have lost my text message app. I can still receive text and the notification appears. I can click that and then I'm in the app to reply. 

But I can't find the app anywhere else. If I want to look for a text, I need to find my contact and click text on there. 

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah. This has been going on for months now, so it's been through updates and restarts aplenty.

Check your apps
To see if it's added
To another app

I went into apps and found Messenges. Didn't seem to be associated to anything else.

Is there an option
When you long press
on Messages
To add to Home page

Nope! Doesn't seem to be. This really is a pesky little problem!

Have you tried clearing the cache

That would be a last resort
As would loose data
And any saved apps
