SIM doesnt connect after update

We purchased an S20 +5g a little over a month ago. It had an Esim. Once we did an update the Esim stopped connecting. We contacted our provide 3 different times and each time they were able to get it to connect ... eventually. But then it would bounce off again and tell us there was No Sim. So after the 3rd attempt I decided to get a physical sim card thinking that maybe the Esim was the issue. We put that sim card in today. It came on briefly then bounced off again. Provider says that everything is in running order on their end and since I have seen within these forums other people having issues with sims I thought I would try here to see if anyone can help or is this phone just a POS. We have tried changing sim via provider, resetting network settings, did a factory reset at one point, put in a physical sim, toggle airplane mode on and off. I just don't know what else to do since I am NOT a tech guru. On a different note there has been a sound issue from about week 2 along with the battery not charging well. If I put it on my flat charger the red light starts blinking on it and it says when plugged in that it will take over 4 hrs to charge from a 30% charge level. I am at wit's end ... if anyone can help that would be fabulous!!

 

 

My husband is having the same issue with a brand new S20 +5G . He restarts the phone and the Esim is just gone.  We just bought the phone about a month ago. There is no option to change the 5G to 4G. We were also told that the phone may have come with a dirty app installed to it which is why I am going to try to start it in safe mode. I am also wondering .. if you are in safe mode .. and it automatically switches to Airplane mode ... how are you supposed to tell if there is an app causing the issue? You don't see bars for service or anything so I am confused ..I am def NOT a tech guru so trying my best to find a solution. We did order a physical sim just in case the Esim was the issue ... Thank you

I'm not really the person to ask about this kind of stuff but I would reccomend going to settings>device care>app protection>scan phone to look for bad apps and keep an eye out for any bad apps while its scanning and use safe mode to uninstall them. Like I said i'm not the best to ask about this stuff but thats just what i would reccomend doing.

The S20+ 5g is now out of support.

Are you saying you've bought two of these over the last couple of months?

Both sound like they need to be returned for a refund.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Where are you getting these now unsupported phones? Try diagnostics via Samsung members app but it sounds like hardware is failing

No ... we only have purchased 1. I realize they are out of support. My husband HAD to have one with a Micro SD so I found this one. Was supposed to be new however the guy we went to check the speaker says no it is not a new phone. Unfortunately I believe there was a 30 day return policy and we were 2 days out from that when we decided to contact them and they have yet to respond to our inquiries. I think we are just S.O.l but I was hoping to find something here that might help .. Thank you for responding. My device is and S23 ultra .. but hubby didn't want anything so expensive .. lol

I purchased it off Walmart .. and it looks like it was a 3rd party who sold it. No where on there does it say it is refurbished or anything. However the phone tech guy when we took it in to have a new speaker put in "in case that was an issue with the sound" says it is def NOT a new device 😞 Ok I do not have the samsung app on his phone .. so install it .. then try a diagnostic run ... is it self expanitory once I download the app??

confused as it exists for me. possibly check again? it should be the fourth option down. unless you are on ui8.5 then i have no idea because samsung are changing the device care design in 8.5
