Hello,
I've always been annoyed at the small space bar when typing searches in the Samsung Internet browser. It makes the space bar smaller to fit the "www. Or .com" keys. I did not want to change keyboard or browser so persevered, and to my delight, on the latest Android 11 update, it clearly stated that the space bar had been made larger when entering Web addresses, however, nothing has changed. Can anyone please provide some advice? Just to clarify, this is only when using the browser web address bar as a search feature. All other instances, such as SMS or WhatsApp the space bar is normal size. I've reset and deleted all data in the Keyboard app to see if anything would change since the update but it hasn't made a difference.
Thanks in advance ☺

Wow, this is hella annoying, wtf.... There is (still) no option to change the layout?
Also annoying, if you want to delete text, and you need to stop at the right moment, so that it does not start to delete by word? So annoying. As an option I tried Microsoft keyboard, but that sucks in other parts(((( OMG((((( Samsung, please U the best, please fix this :'(

This can be changed in Samsung keyboard settings > layout > spacebar row style

David, I appreciate the attempt to help. However, this only partially works. While the .com seems to disappear with this setting, when you go into a browser, it will continue to show the . period as per the first layout shown. It's like this setting doesn't really work for browsers, which is kinda where most of this issue occurs in the first place. (Searching google and whatnot.) This was one of the first things I attempted when this layout selection feature was introduced, only for me to be extremely disappointed. It appears in all 3 main phone browsers chrome, Samsung internet, and firefox. Again, for some reason in the browser it will default to the first layout depicted in your photo. In case any devs are paying attention and need clarification, the period in this location makes your natural thumb extension, using the right hand, hit the period more than the spacebar. I can't imagine how much worse it might be for those with smaller hand than mine, and mine are decently sized. Which results in searches like "how. do. I. do. this.".

Yeah, i've completely switched to the microsoft swiftkey because of this issue. It seems to have the best autocorrection but you're right, it has its own issues. I would like to fully give samsung keyboard a shot but this issue, even after layout selection in the settings, makes it impossible to do anything in the browser.

Hello, if you're still looking at these please take a look at the last few entries in this post. It will explain that there are definitely still issues with layouts.

This is still a problem. I wrote a review on the Galaxy Store. Maybe more of those will get their attention.
This really sucks and is the reason why I have to keep going back to Swiftkey 🤦🏽♂️

I've now gone back to using Google's Gboard.

Wow I thought that I'm only one annoyed by this. It's such a simple thing to change but yet Samsung doesn't do anything about it. I'm using Tab S7 so samsung keyboard is only reasonable choice because of s pen input. I hope solution come soon.

Struggling with this hourly. Putting full stops constantly in my browser as right handed...
Making the space bar longer in the settings by losing the full stop and comma for everything (where it's no problem at all in all other scenarios) is a horrible 'fix'. Unbelievable you can't have the same keyboard for everything.
How on earth did this pass UAT, literally nobody needs www.
At least put it off center to the right given most of the world is right handed.

I created an account and am jumping on the bandwagon here as well to say that this should absolutely be toggle-able in settings. It's really ridiculous that it's not considering it was forced upon users in an update. Let me customize the Samsung keyboard to not include this intrusive button while web browsing.
