Hey Team,

I'm running a Galaxy S21 FE 5G that I purchased on 02.10.2022 (Invoice date). Very recently, I updated to One UI version 6 (Android 14), and since then the display shows annoying vertical white lines. I have observed in the forum that, a large number of S21 FE users have reported similar incident after the update.

I am confident that my device has no history of physical damage and has not been mishandled, dropped from height, or splashed with water. I am convinced that the vertical line issue is a major technical glitch of the One UI version 6

My queries are straightforward and are given below.

1. Is there any technical walkaround to make the white lines disappear?

2. If the vertical line issue persists, am I eligible for a free screen replacement? (I know, I have to pay a nominal engineers' labour charge.)

3. How should I proceed to apply for a free screen replacement from Samsung's end?

My location is Burdwan, West Bengal. If I am missing any information, feel free to ask in the comments below. Any help is appreciated.

Samsung Dev Team, please respond.

Thanks, Sonia.

I'm in myanmar and I also got the problem. The Samsung authorized service center asked me $160 for fixing it. 😕

I am facing the same issue. I purchased my device in 2022, and just two days ago, I updated it to the latest version. After encountering problems, I contacted the service center. They advised me to visit the nearest Samsung service center. However, when I went there, they claimed that a minor glitch on the metal body of my phone prevents them from updating the screen.

Isn’t this a form of harassment by Samsung? First, they release a poorly tested software update, convincing users like me to install it, which then damages the screen. Now, they refuse to fix the issue, blaming it on a superficial fault.

Here’s their policy:

  1. You must be the first owner (I am).
  2. No parts should have been replaced since purchase (none have been).

Despite meeting these conditions, they are still unwilling to update my screen.

Let’s not let this slide, everyone. I still have faith in the Indian consumer court system. We should register complaints and fight against such unfair practices. I, for one, am determined to take this matter forward.
