I have just bought my son the a16 but I have the s20 FE which no longer supports family.
Does he need a samsung account ?
If so how can I set it up with parental controls.
I have set up the Google family.
Any help very much appreciated.

Hi
To set up a Samsung Family account (or Family group), you'll need to navigate to your Samsung account settings, select "Family", and then choose to either invite existing Samsung account holders or create a child account. You can invite family members via email or QR code.

For child accounts, you'll need to provide some basic information and verify the account.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Access Samsung Account Settings:

Open the Settings app on your Samsung device, Tap on your Samsung account name, and Select Family.

Hi
Doing samsung search
I found this

Does the S20 support the UI 6?

Unfortunately, Galaxy S20 is not eligible for the Android 14 / One UI 6.1 update since the software support for version upgrades has already ended.
You may still get security updates

Hi @noname001  The S20 has reached the end of its life, you have the latest available software but as this is 2 years old some functions will not be supported though your Device  may still function fine. https://www.androidupdatetracker.com/p/samsung-galaxy-s20

it does though now receive security updates and this vulnerability increases and an issue with monitoring activity.  Are you in a position to purchase/take contract for more moderm device?

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Sorted it, I went onto my sons phone and signed in as me then set him up a samsung account. I then set up parent controls and signed myself out. Once I have got a mire up to date phone will be able to monitor. For now am using Google family to track his phone. Thanks for people's help.
