Ever since I have done the Android 4.1 update on my samsung s21 ultra, videos won't play on the browsers. I have tried both chrome and the default Samsung browser.

This video glitch happens as well on some other applications.

I have tried a number of fixes of which seem to work, including contacting Google themselves.

Please advice

Hi, my Phone S21 Ultra has the same Problem with Videos playing in the Browser!

Mein Handy S21 Ultra hat das selbe Problem.

Im Browser werden die Videos nicht oder selten abgespielt..

I'm in the same trouble. I have the S21 5G. In my case the videos stop working only in Google Chrome, Opera work normally and I still "forced" opening several videos at the same time and continued normal. In Chrome only one open video is enough to stop working.

In most cases, I have been able to play a first video, then a second one won't play. Seems to be a cache issue. Rather than re-booting, I have often been able to play another video by forcing a stop of Chrome, in my case. Sometimes, there is no other solution than the full re-boot, though. Both workarounds are annoying, the forced stop is just a little faster. I can't believe there is still no fix to this after such a long time and seeing that it is such a vital feature.

The only solution that I received from Samsung members (România) for the bug we encountered with video playing is to backup your phone with samsung app and factory reset the device.

For me, this solution is equal with no bug fix, **Swearing** and rating negative all Samsung apps. 😈

I updated my google chrome and apparently had solved, however I started watching youtube videos on chrome to test and, although it took much longer, the error returned to occur, but now in a worse way, because no other browser played videos, which leads me to believe that it is a problem of UI 4.1. I had to restart my device, but I know that if I watch videos again, the error will happen again. 😩

Update: well, it troubled me so much that I gave hard reset on my S21 and unfortunately the problem persists. I see no other option than waiting for the next update and waiting for it to resolve this issue. At least now all know that hard reset will not solve this problem. 😪

Reported 3 weeks ago and still no patch and no word from Samsung. This bug renders the phone useless as the media device I want to use it for. Flagship phone and over £1k price tag and no announcements/ acknowledgments. Giving it another week and if it's not fixed ill return the phone to my provider as not functioning correctly. Sorry to rant but it's not acceptable.

It's not ranting believe me we are affected. Today was the 2nd time i reach out to support. And I said exactly what you said about paying premiumprice for my phone in advance as a pre order to end up with a useless media device, I am an editor for Gods sake and can't preview things on my phone! The support said you can send it to the service center and they could attempt to fix it. But after reading what other people said that a hard factory reset will not do any good, I told her that I am not welling to also wait 3 to 4 days till they return my phone without fixing it since it obviously needs an update fix to roll out! She just apologized and asked me to be patient.

What triggers me the most it just so happened while the s22 ultra rolled out, as if this is some sort of a twisted way to make you think it's time to upgrade your phone to the next one, Never thought Samsung would step low as Apple does with updates that could harm your phone.

There is no excuse what so ever. I tried looking for codics to install, or updating the player it self, nothing helped and couldnt find any codecs pack to install.

This has took so long I am afraid they are ignoring the matter or simply what we hear about them knowing the issue is just a lie.

Samsung if you reading this, just know some people like me were with you since S1, it's a shame.
