S21 Ultra Battery life really bad compared to all the youtube video review

So I bought the new S21 Ultra on the pre order the day it was announced. I was one of the lucky ones to get early so I could leave a review. 

Coming from a Note 10+ that I had for a year and a half, I was really excited for the S21 Ultra, but was really disappointed with the battery life. I've had the phone for 5 days now and since the very beginning I've not been able to use the phone for the whole day on a single charge. It's been giving me screen on times comparable to my Note 10+ (4/5 hours) which is a much older device, but I thought maybe this was the way all S21 ultra's were behaving, just not very good battery life.

BUT, yesterday all the youtubers started to publish they're videos comparing batteries with older S devices and Iphones and their S21s were doing amazing, giving them screen on times of up to 13 hours! 

I contacted support but they said this would be normal as my phone was still learning user patterns... but I'm not sure if that would affect it as bad as it is at the moment. 

What do you guys think? Should I send the phone back? I'm really concerned that I just spent all this money on a new phone for it to be so bad with battery.

If i put apps to sleep i dont receive notifications. I dont Know why. 

And the notifications of the apps are activated.

Hi all, is anyone still getting overheating issues when using their camera?

I'm on the latest AUB9 update in the UK. Battery has improved lots and getting about 8/9 hours SOT with general/heavy usage

I'm getting overheating issues when using the camera.

Samsung are due to collect my phone and give me a replacement but I'm unsure whether a future update will fix the overheating issues or not? Should I get a replacement?

I think Put App to Sleep also turn off notifications, that a problem on Android right now...

I still didn't understand why Samsung still got an issues like this... we hope there are single solutions that fix all of weird issues (Battery Drain, Over Heat etc)

Thank you for this advice. Battery life has definitely improved after disabling VoLTE.

• Screen mode - vivid
• VoWIFI Enabled
• VoLTE Disabled (main culprit for battery drain, at least in my case)
• Adaptive Motion Smoothness
• GPS / Bluetooth always on
• Dark mode
• Adaptive power saving / adaptive battery 
• Nearby scanning on

Just a while back I created a Bixby routine for the network mode to switch to 2g when WiFi is connected. Yet to test how that'll hopefully save more battery. Will share an update.

The screenshot with VoLTE looks better to me, almost as as much SOT and still 30% left. If you max that out you're on 12 hours standby with 9 hours SOT.
Also you're on WiFi so enable WiFi calling, it means you don't need to connect to mobile networks at all when on WiFi

And this is my latest battery usage. Can definitely prove some great standby. I feel like the battery is getting better for my usage.
