So I bought the new S21 Ultra on the pre order the day it was announced. I was one of the lucky ones to get early so I could leave a review.
Coming from a Note 10+ that I had for a year and a half, I was really excited for the S21 Ultra, but was really disappointed with the battery life. I've had the phone for 5 days now and since the very beginning I've not been able to use the phone for the whole day on a single charge. It's been giving me screen on times comparable to my Note 10+ (4/5 hours) which is a much older device, but I thought maybe this was the way all S21 ultra's were behaving, just not very good battery life.
BUT, yesterday all the youtubers started to publish they're videos comparing batteries with older S devices and Iphones and their S21s were doing amazing, giving them screen on times of up to 13 hours!
I contacted support but they said this would be normal as my phone was still learning user patterns... but I'm not sure if that would affect it as bad as it is at the moment.
What do you guys think? Should I send the phone back? I'm really concerned that I just spent all this money on a new phone for it to be so bad with battery.

And if that is the case why are the YouTubers phones doing great with battery and ours aren’t?

Yesterday was atrocious, had to charge it at 17:50. Didn't even get 12hrs out of the thing. I run it at full belt, no aod, but wghd, 5g on 120hz etc. Today seems better, currently on 29%. Before this I had a Mi10, I'd go to bed with 40% and 8+ hrs sot.

When did you get the second one? And yeah I agree, that’s exactly how I’d run mine, what’s the point in having a fancy phone just to disable all the features for battery life. It baffles me.. and really? It’s such a shame it really is. Maybe a new one will be better for me

I got the new one on Friday, so I've had it three days now. I'm just hoping that it gets better. My last one did get better within a week, but the main reason I sent it back was because it rattled like hell! This new one rattles, due to the camera, but nowhere near as bad as the first one. Still awaiting the new update in the uk.

Oh really? Yeah I read about the camera and they say it’s the floating stabiliser to keep the camera steady as the phone moves.. mine does it too so I think that’s normal. Yeah mate I’m also the uk. Fingers crossed for the new update then I guess. How you finding the phone phone apart from issues anyways?

D'ya know what mate, on the whole, it's lovely. To put it into context, I had 14 phones last year 😂 all flagships, and I keep coming back to Samsung. I love the ui, cameras etc, just a shame the battery let's them down. I wish good lock would pull its finger out, as I love to change the colour of my notification panel etc. As I've said before, I'll keep it and persist, but I'm waiting for the oneplus 9 Pro. 👍

Sounds like you change phones more times than I change my then boxers😂 it’s my first android and I honestly love it, exactly like you say though mate, the battery is a huge let down. Overall though I’m really enjoying the experience. Hopefully Samsung makes a change on a future update

I've always been android, never had an iPhone, my son/siblings have iPhones, I just can't stand them. My phones are my only passion, and I get loads of stick from work about how often I changed them. The best Samsung I've had in recent years was the S10 5g. It was a beautiful phone, great camera, super thin and the battery lasted. Fingers 🤞 the battery gets better bud.

I know exactly what you mean there, I came from an iPhone and there just terrible phones, fashion statements some would say. Androids really are great phones mate. But thank you for your replies Dave, been a pleasure mate! I’m sure I’ll see you about on here anyways, take care, Stuart.
