S21 Series Brief Pop Up

I have recently upgraded from Galaxy S7 to S21+. I started my Samsung journey with the D500 and have owed models like the S3 and S5. I must say the 21 series are great though there is a minor floor that I wouldn't have expected.

See below:

The 21 series doesn't have led indicators, though the 'brief pop up' is an amazing replacement. It has a major floor for me.
When receiving a WhatsApp or text message it pops up with the recipients name and a preview of the message. It doesnt offer the security of simply alerting you visually without displaying the recipient and message preview. If I'm screen mirroring my phone in a public domain for example it is not ideal. Currently the only way around this is switching off 'high priority notifications' on WhatsApp and text messages from popping up. This leaves me unable to use the 'brief pop up' feature and its amazing effects. Ideally it would be better if it pops up with for example 'WhatsApp' or 'Message' for texting with the effects, as I can preview the message in the notification panel at my own leisure. It is disappointing that I cannot use the 'brief pop up' as I please. Maybe this is something that can be considered when developing future system updates? I am only a few days into the use of my 21+ and so far this is the only floor. I doubt there will be any more.

Thanks for reading!

I would like this effect with just the app icon i.e. text messages, WhatsApp. Just without the message preview or recipients, without putting my phone on DND. Thanks, I hope I'm clearer. 👍Screenshot_20220104-210623_Settings.jpg

Hello, did you get help with this because I have the same problem?

I want the notifications but I don't need the whole text popping on my screen randomly.

Not so far unless Samsung has corrected this in an update.

oh, it's such a bummer - I have managed to adjust teh message and Whatsapp settings for the write-up pop. But for every other application, this is still a problem.

Hello, @OriginalBlackStarGH Found the setting:)

Go to Notifications for Each app, then select  *notification Categories*, Then select the notification one by one - you will see an option to disable the pop-up option.

I get what you saying here, thanks.
What I was looking for is the notification to pop up just with out the contents of the message or the sender, like it does on the locked screen.

@OriginalBlackStarGH: The set up you're after isn't available while the phone is unlocked, I'm afraid. You do have the option of heading to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Notifications > Message notifications > Lock Screen > Hide content, so the senders details aren't displayed on your lock screen notifications. If you simply wanted to be alerted, then while you're in Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Message notifications, disable 'Show as pop-up' and notification alerts will still be shown in your Status Bar and notification panel.
