My galaxy s stopped charging. I had the usb port replaced. It charges perfectly now but will no longer connect to the network. I've tried turning it off and on, taking out the sim, resetting network settings etc. Wifi calling and text works but can't use my phone as a phone!!
I've seen this issue referenced online saying that there is a connecting to the antennae - but no solutions thai I've been able to find. Can anyone help??

I dont usually comment on these forums coz theyre rarely any useful.
That aside, the reason you are having network issues is because whoever fixed your phone swapped your entire usb-port panel/board for a new one, and now the new panel wont register network coz it probably doesnt have an antenna or is a different panel version for your Mobile phone...he ripped you off as well coz thats something he should have picked up as soon as the phone went on.
Had to replace my usb port today and the guy couldnt find the right model so he suggested we get a new panel, which we did, but the first panel would disable touchscreen funtionality so we returned that, got a different model, and this one did not dshow network connectivity, then we got a third version which worked but that one had no fingerprint scanner chip so we ended up deciding to remove only the port from that and put it on my old panel and Voila! Phone works, but now the bottom speaker is busted, lucky the technician didnt charge me and said he will source out an exact model for mine so we do a prope replacement.
Its 99.99% a hardware issue, an issue your tech guy shouldve told you about instead of cheating.

@Cait1: To begin with, please swipe up from your Home screen and head to Settings > Software update > Download and install, and check for any available updates for your phone. Now, head to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access point names, and check to make sure that your network plan is registered here. If it isn't, tap the 3 dots in the top right > Reset to default, to see if this helps. Tap the Back button > Network operators > Select automatically, and make sure that this is toggled on.
If the problem persists, power off your phone, remove the SIM card and give the gold contacts a rub with a dry, microfibre cloth, then re-insert it and power the device back on. When the phone has finished booting, check the top left corner of the lock screen, where your network details should be visible.
To further troubleshoot the issue, please head to Settings > Connections > SIM manager, and make sure that your SIM is recognised, and toggled on. Also, you may wish to head to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset mobile network settings > Reset settings,
If the issue persists, then please try your SIM card in another compatible phone, as this will help to determine if the problem lies with the phone, or your SIM/network provider.

Thanks for so many options. I've carefully gone through them all. Definitely seems to be a hardware issue with the device rather than software or sim card (sim works in other devices and all software up to date and the settings look correct).
There is another post that seems identical to my issue:
"After replacing the usb board, is not connecting to the network"

ZPopovski
- the same issue for me, even including that my "flight mode" button is grey- not on or off (though when I go to settings, flight mode is off).
Is there a connection between the antenna of the phone and the usb port??

Thanks so much for your reply, you're 100% correct.
Thankfully the guy I took it to recognised his mistake when i went back (he used the wrong model part) which he switched out with an apology and partial refund for the inconvenience.
