After installing the latest update on both phones (S21 5G and S21 5G Ultra 512 GB 16 RAM) the touchscreen became unresponsive. I noticed that the date automatically was changed on both phones to 3rd May 16.00.

The only thing that is working are sides buttons.

I managed to start the recovery console using:
 1. Side button + Volume down to restart the phone
2. Then very quick I change to Side button + Volume up

I wiped the cache partition and also performed a factory reset on S21 5G but unfortunately did not solve the issues. The only change is that the phone is starting the setup (with a padlock locked on top left corner) a new phone but I cannot interact to set it up.

I assume that the main and major issues are with UI.6.1

Is there anything I can do for downgrading the android/UI and recover the information I have on S21 Ultra?

I hope that there is a quick solution as it is so frustrating for having two top phones and to not be able to use any of them. At the moment I'm lucky to have an A70 with older android and UI but I'm thinking of leaving Samsung after many years and products and not buy any other.

Thank you.

Ive made a whole heap of changes in settings and it has helped. S21+ 5g user who had screen replaced and experience lag, particularly typing with these inputs ĥèĺp as an example. It seems to work better by turning off as much rubbish google and UI 6.1 features. Try the following until they fix this:

1. Hold empty space on home screen until control panel appears, swipe left and turn off google discover and samsung free

2. Settings, Home Screen, About Home Screen then select info icon on top right. Disable and dissallow all permissions in One UI Home here

3. In settings, search digital assistant app, instead of google or bixby. Choose none

I did a few more settings but too many to list. Believe these top 3 will improve the function and touch issues until there is a fix. The issue also seems to worsen with bad internet connection, i.e less touch issues when on wifi. Try these settings and turn off all this useless broken ***** features thats contributing to these faultly releases. Samsung can shove UI 6.1 back up their *****

After two Samsung phones which are unusable I'm using my wife old IPhone 7 plus that still working amazing.

This decision I made after pop in into Samsung service where I've been told that they can check my phones but any part is not Genuine will be replace. As the touchscreen was changed on both phones and after both were working perfect I politely thank him I left with my broken phones
Dear Samsung, your Policy said if the phone is damaged by unauthorised repairs or 3rd party parts you are not responsible. Fair enough, however what happen when the working device is damaged after officially repair (FIRMWARE UPDATE)?

As you may see in my reply to AntS, I moved to IPhone. However I definitely not like the idea of losing two expensive Samsung phones therefore I will continue looking for a solution

It's a simple process, my friend. All they have to do is issue a firmware update mirroring UI 6.0 precisely, including the latest binary. This would allow us to revert to the previous firmware version and regain functionality on our phones.

I suspect they already have this firmware but haven't made it available on their website. If you were to visit the service center, they might insist on a screen replacement, profiting from it, and then install the firmware to restore functionality.

Actually no. The update push non original restriction hardware for Galaxy AI. U can test by updating TSP. Currently NA at my phone.

They test non original & original screen in front of me. Original  screen can function using hand

Non original screen only can use S Pen.

U can see their reply before. If the phone tempered by non original part or non authorized service, they won't responsible for it.

Then why the screen still functioning on the UI 6.0? So does it mean we need to replace the screen so we could use the phone? and besides do yo have an idea how expensive to replace the screen?

My phone is S21+ 5G I purchased new in sealed box - HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED - contacted Samsung UK who denied all knowledge of problem then said phone is out of warranty so send in for chargeable repair!!!!!!!!! as I said in another reply have now bought Pixel - so much better - but would still like S21 fixed so can sell. Samsung must be held to account.

No Galaxy AI feature on OneUI 6.0. Galaxy AI was introduced on OneUI 6.1

So, go 3 options here.

1. Use original screen from Samsung. I know the price. Can buy mid tier A series phone

2. Wait aftermarket screen that can crack this restriction (I hope this will come). But I don't think this will be fast.

3. Buy non-Samsung & non-Apple phone.  Apple & Samsung famous with saber screen or green screen.

If you are lucky, can change to UI 6.0 if SW version A. If version B, no luck already.
