@jude74: Please try enabling Mobile Data by swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom, and tapping on Mobile Data in Quick Panel, as this may be required to send messages in MMS format. Also, try opening the Messages app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Chat settings > Default message type > Text or multimedia. Let me know how you get on.
