I did the latest update to my phone this morning, now I have a non-stop message coming up.  The message is: faster richer higher quality chat on wifi or data.

I know this is related to the enhanced chat and I've tried turning it off about 100 times. It will not go away! Even while typing this post it popped up!

Samsung,  please fix this. It is maddening!!!

Agree to the message and then follow these steps. Pull up your messages app> 3 dots> settings> chat settings> chat features> turn off

Anyone find a solid solution to this? So far I get the pop up less frequently now, but it continues to happen.  I tried a lot of what is found here:

Hi, geekywilly,

i realize this may be  a dopey question, but did you try Amb0 ´s suggestion on previous page(s) ?  If you did, my apologies.  It definitely worked for me.  I haven’t seen this nasty pop-up once since I followed his directions to a tee and then rebooted my Note 20 5G Ultra.  It’s gone though the taste left in my mouth is bad and remains.  I very much doubt I will buy another Samsung Smart phone as a result.  Incidentally, I tried ALL other suggested remedies to no avail.  It was onlynAmb0 ´s suggested fix that worked for me.  It makes sense since it effectively stops notifications of ALL incoming messages and chats.  I have to manually check now.  This is inconvenient but nowhere as bad as that incessant pop-up was!  When/if Samsung fixes this, I’ll simply turn it back on.  Best of Luck!

I ended up switching to use Signal for messaging. Maybe that fixed it, or maybe it just finally gave up spamming the popup.

Getting the same issue after a phone update:

  • About once every 15 minutes.
  • I am not pressing 'Agree', nor do I want to agree to it.
  • I am constantly pressing 'Use without chat features'.

I don't have Google Messages installed, so it's not related to that.

Tried all of these and all of them do NOT make a difference:

  • Messaging app (Samsung phone default) > Ellipses > Chat Settings > 'Default message type' already set to 'Text or multimedia'
  • Settings > Apps > Messaging > Change System Settings > Not Allowed
  • Disabling all notifications for Messages
  • Disabling Messages entirely

Well then you are agreeing to allow samsung to contact your service provider whenever they feel it necessary and some charges may apply.  Is that agreement nullified if you turn off chat? It's all pretty inane that we have to go through all of this headache just because samsung can't or won't fix their opt out button. They probably get a slice of those service provider charges.

I'm having the same issue. Also my RCS (Samsung version of imessage) suddenly stopped working. I've read all the replies on here and nothing has worked. Everyone is talking about a 'chat features' option in their message settings but I don't even have this. I'm so confused and frustrated 😟

I'm so beyond frustrated! I've emailed the google "FI" people and they keep giving me the same fix that doesnt work. I've told them that many of us are experiencing the same issue and that it makes it so I can't even use my phone. I swear I've gotten a pop up every minute and its been going on for 4 days. I'm so frustrated. I've tried all the fixes on here and it's still happening!
