I have to clear USB settings before USB recognized

Hi.

I have an S9+ . Lately I have to go to Settings - USB Settings and clear the cache & data before it recognizes my USB device.

The OTG cable I'm using is just a cheapo from Amazon. But in the past,I had no problems. It was recognized right away. It wasn't until I factory reset my Samsung Galaxy S9+ that this problem started.

I tried factory reset again and no luck. I still have to go through this process.

Why is this?

The phone's about 4 years old so I kind of expected little quirks like this to arise.
