Here is the only way I managed to do this. It took around 30 seconds.
1- Inserted my SIM into an Apple phone
Then three clicks later:
Settings> Phone> My Number
Deleted the SIM Number and enterd my Ported Number
One more click> Save
and It's done.
The About Phone in Samsung now shows the correct number.
And I thought it was Apple that was supposed to be the control freak of the mobile market.
Common Samsung. After all, this number doesn't do anything and is not used for anything. All it does is says something about the phone. So it may as well say the correct thing.
Hope this is useful.

Hi,
old topic but I came across this with the same issue moving sim to my s24...called EE as my mobile network...all I needed to do was refresh my network settings...they did the same...restarted and all correct!
(so no borrowing iPhone, store visit or replacement sim service needed!)

I had the same issue when I was trying to log back into my account and couldn’t receive the 6-digit code via SMS. I tried everything — different browsers, incognito mode, but nothing worked.
The only solution that helped me was using a temporary number. I found a service that lets you receive sms online uk https://online-sim.org/Free-GB-Phone-Number , and it worked perfectly for me. I was able to get the code and log back in without any problems. Hope this helps!

Sorry to Revive this old-post. This definitely does not affect the Network Capabilities and definitely this is not ideal. As David_1960 mentioned above, this can be set from the iPhone. So, if an iPhone can do this, Samsung should be able to do this, too. It's a basic feature. Not something difficult to implement. I think Samsung dev team should look into adding this feature.
