Hallo together,
I have trubble with my physical keyboards on my S21 ultra. I have tested fife different physical keyboards and non of them worked correctly. All of them work correctly on my Tab S7. It seems that the underlying german layout for physical keyboards on the phone is not correct. I don't know if this is an OneUI 3 or an Android 11 problem. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

Hello - I have probably bad news for you - I ve noticed the same behaviour with DEX....my current S6 works perfectly with DEX (One UI 2.5) - since I updated my s20 5G FE to Android 11 and OneUI 3 I ve seen the same fault you mentioned - so most likely the problem is Android11 or OneUI 3 related. I noticed that after a power off and Power on - on the 1st sign in - the keyboard map is correct - (type in an Umlautzeichen (Ä/ä, Ö/ö, Ü/ü) they are visible for a short amount of time...after a successful sign in the keyboard map is then incorrect. Probably Samsung is aware of this bug.....as it s known since a while......

I have a Galaxy Tab S6 with the bookcover with Android 11 and OneUI3.1. I have similar issues.
Any layout with special keys doesn't work. ÅÄÖs keys result in the US assiged functions. regardless of what countrys layout is chosen. the qurious thing is that colemack, dvorak and AZERTY seem to work.
it's almost like the developers didn't have a international keyboard to test with
does anyone know that samsung is working on this? any ETA on an update.

I use the standard English keyboard layout, and if I need some other letters, I just press a certain key, and that's enough to bring up a small menu with suggested characters.
This has helped me a lot when learning German online. We communicated with the teacher by correspondence, mainly using the most common german words, which often contained the letters of the German alphabet.
So I could only discover such a feature when I was learning another language. I wouldn't have thought of it before.

Hallo together,
after digging around i found a solution that worked for me.
The issue had to do with an installed service (Einstellungen -> Eingabehilfe -> Installierte Dienste), there i had the Automagic service running. After stopping the service, the keyboard works as intended with the correct mapping. I hope this helps you as well 🙂
