emoji keyboard

when i updated my phone a couple weeks ago i found that the emojis were a lot smaller and there was more space. i was very happy until i found out that i am missing at least 4 emoji spaces. those are all the emojis i can have which is very disappointing and inconvenient. there is also a lot of wasted space below the last row which i feel like should be used up with emojis too! i have an s9+, i was wondering if there was any way of fixing this? does anybody else have it?
