Has anyone in the UK gotten the April Software Update on their S21 Ultra? It has the camera update but I haven't gotten it so far?

None of that is correct. In fact I've had warranty repairs on such a device.

And others have not...

There was a post on the smartwatch section a while back where a warranty claim was denied at a service enter because it was modified to get Samsung Pay here in the UK. A Samsung MOD confirmed that modifying a device can void the warranty. That's why I used the word "risk" and didn't say that it VOIDS a warranty outright. Change it, don't change it, I don't care but make sure you're aware of any potential pitfalls that may arise later down the road.

My advice comes from being a UK Samsung iPhone user.

Current Devices:
  • iPhone 14 Pro 256GB Deep Purple
  • Samsung Galaxy Buds+ > Model: SM-R175.

It looks as though it won't be too long before your U.S.A. carrier unlocked model, SM-G998U1, gets an AUC8 update as they have started to roll out in the USA to the carrier locked models. See...

Using another region's firmware is kind of obvious to Samsung and you also run the risk of bricking the device. Flashing a device with the correct firmware causes no issues, it is not detectable and Knox does not get tripped. You refer to a case which is not the same as flashing stock firmware.

No I do not... They flashed generic stock UK firmware by changing the CSC code.

If the phone was supplied by a mobile operator then they have their own set of rules and handle warranty claims in house at times. They will definitely void the Warranty if you remove their custom firmware! Also, features such as WiFi calling may no longer work because such features only work with branded firmware on some networks.

Do you work for Samsung? Unless you work for Samsung I wouldn't risk my warranty let alone risk loosing features such as WiFi calling. I simply mentioned anyone doing so risks voiding their warranty.

Oh and most manufactures of electronic devices do not accept warranty claims where bad, incomplete or corrupt firmware flashes occur. Never had that happen to me though, and I have no idea if Samsung enforce such a rule but I can tell you Nokia did back in the day.

I've had mobiles since the 80s. For the last 10+ years I've owned Samsungs and have rooted devices, flashed more devices than I can remember. I've repaired bricked devices using a jtag. I have never had any problems but you have to know exactly what you are doing. It's not for everyone and not recommended. I know nothing about watches so can't give any info on those but I know you can't change the CSC and then expect to install another region's firmware which is sheer stupidity.
My phone firmware is the same firmware as the EE firmware but with the BTU firmware which updated recently. The firmware has not been modified in any way since the OXM firmware is multiple CSC firmware.

I agree no manufacturer will entertain a warranty claim if you mess up the phone by flashing the wrong firmware the phone isn't defective, it's user stupidity.

Let me advise you how my warranty claim was handled. Galaxy S8 thermistor problem. Phone flashed with XEU firmware from EE firmware. The phone was sent to EE's repairers but the problem was still there and the device was sent to Samsung twice. There was no mention about the firmware whatsoever so I don't recognise the scenario you quoted.

Anyway, I don't intend to reply further on this. Its kind of Spooky because my name is Paul and I live in Swansea so it's like hearing voices in your head!
