Just like that, without any notice or warning, Daydream no longer works on my S9+.
The same applies to S9 and Note 9, which used to be perfectly compatible with Daydream, but now all you get is this:
Note that the scene behind this dialog window is actually perfectly rendered, and the phone itself is using the "low motion-blur" screen mode.
The problem is, in Android 8 and Android 9, these phones have defined a system flag "android.hardware.vr.high_performance", which is no longer defined on Android 10.
This is a Samsung-specific problem, as Pixel phones running Android 10 can still use Daydream perfectly (as reported in this Reddit thread).
Hopefully Samsung will be able to get around to fix this problem in a future system update, as it only requires them to add a single xml file to the system image...

@Reaper4025 You don't know what you're talking about. The Daydream app appears in the store if your phone supports Daydream. I can pull it up on my Note 9 running Pie, right now.
Just because Samsung discontinues support doesn't mean stuff stops working. They discontinued support on the Galaxy S7, but people can still use their phones. They stopped supporting headphone jacks in the Note 10+, that doesn't make everyone's headphone jack stop working.
That article is talking about how no NEW devices will get Gear VR or Daydream. Not that previously supported devices would stop working. That's nonsense.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 plus which previously operated the Google Daydream and after the update it doesn't work anymore. My device is clearly stated in the compatible devices supporting the Daydream moreover it previously worked. I don't know what you're talking about. I tried removing and downloading the software again but it doesn't work.

We should all come back to bump this everyday. If we build our case to be larger, then maybe they will realize we won't forget. I paid good money for a device pair advertised as compatible. This is called bait and switch so now we have a case for a class action lawsuits.

I agree, let's at least post once a day.
If you are in the US, class action could work but in Europe it's more complicated and takes ages to setup... let's use these MF !

Before commenting, I think it best you do your own research first. I sourced plenty of websites before commenting. I too was desperate for it to work. But sadly support has ceased. My Samsung S9 was supported. And yes, it still states that it is supported. But in the playstore, the app has gone. Not there. I search Daydream and nothing comes up.
Samsung has removed the coding to allow the VR headset to work. Not a glitch. Intentionally removed.
So lets link some more websites:
https://venturebeat.com/2019/10/15/google-discontinues-daydream-vr/
https://9to5google.com/2019/10/15/google-daydream-view-is-no-longer-available-from-the-google-store/
https://thenextweb.com/plugged/2019/10/16/googles-daydream-vr-project-is-no-longer-a-reality/
Is that enough links for you? I read many more than this before spouting off on a forum. Samsung has been somewhat quiet on this. But they have left out the code in the latest android update. Gone

@Reaper4025 I already told you, you don't see the app because you upgraded to Android 10 and Samsung's ROM does not tell the OS that it is Daydream compatible.
Google did NOT pull the app. I literally just installed it LOL. It is still in the Play Store but only visible IF android sees your phone is supported. Older Pixel phones running Android 10 or S9 still on Pie still see thr Daydream app in the store.
Your links only talk about FUTURE phones not EXISTING devices. Like I said, there are still phones that can run Daydream on Android 10.
All Samsung has to do is push an update with the code telling Android 10 that it is a Daydream compatible phone and you'll see it in the Play Store again.
