I have downloaded an app called Mezurio which won't function without notifications.  However the app does not appear under Notifications in Settings.  When I choose "all system apps" it does then show, but won't allow me to switch on notifications - it stays greyed out and gives the message in the subject title above.

I have the latest Android software and the app is the current version.  I have rebooted the phone and uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Has anyone any bright ideas, please?

I just noticed this today too and then came across this thread.  Pleased to see some references to the Surepet app as that's what's being affected for me.  My phone did an update over the weekend so wondering if this has affected the surepet app.  I've raised it as a query with Surepet and hope that if enough people are having this issue and reporting it to them, they will get it sorted.  :hand-with-index-and-middle-fingers-crossed:

Definitely log tickets with Sure Petcare. Still waiting to hear back and will share results here. On a mission to resolve this I also installed Sure Petcare app on a Samsung tablet that never had it before. Logged in with my Surepet account details... looked at notifications and it was already has 'all notifications from this app are blocked'. So it's either something odd with the Samsung account or with Surepet. Meanwhile other two members if the household continue to work fine on their phones. Note I logged this in the wrong place as I have a S22 Ultra.

I had posted a while ago and still there's no fix to this. Hay Day app from Supercell has the exact same issue. I received a security patch update Oct 1st 2023 for my phone Galaxy A52 and after the update the issue persists. I wrote an email to them and received a feedback to write feom the app. I did that too but no response yet. Hope it gets resolved quickly.

My problem was with my banking apps, as I had previously reported. I managed to solve it with one of them by canceling my plan to receive notifications, and then requesting the same plan again. Then I once again went to configuration, and allowed notifications on the bank app. Magic, worked fine and has been working since then. Other banks, however, still same problem, as they don't have a plan I can cancel and notifications are automatic.

That's good to know Surepet are on the case.  Thanks for sharing as I haven't had a reply from them yet.   I look forward to my 'meow' sounding notifications returning soon, letting me know my cat has used the catflap  😻

Looks like Surepet have fixed it - new version of the app out today, message popped up when I opened the app to say would I allow notifications... and mine phone just meowed at me as the cat left through the cat flap!! 😻
