WhatsApp notifications through bluetooth in car

HI, Does anyone know how to get WhatsApp message notifications to appear if you connect a Galaxy S21 Ultra to your car through bluetooth please? I can see on the car screen when I have a text message but not a WhatsApp message. Also, I can't get WhatsApp calls through bluetooth in the car either - any suggestions?. I've exhausted Google and changed all the settings it says but nothing. I can't connect Android Auto to my car (no idea why) so can't use that.

I have the same issue as you, therefore I have to have my phone plugged in and using Android Auto to get the WhatsApp notifications. Doing it this way isn't great because it means the battery is constantly getting charged which I assume will cause issues down the line.
