Greetings,
I'm trying to tighten my grip on security and privacy but I'm finding that the Z Flip 6 cover screen is working against what I would like to achieve.
Disclaimer: right now I'm using a strong password or biometrics as unlock, and I have setup good lock + multistar to access apps on my cover screen (this is necessary information for what comes next).
What I would like to do:
1) I have enabled the lockdown tile on my phone power settings so that, in a pinch, I can disable biometrics unlock and revert to the more secure password: biometrics are super handy (no pun intended) but can easily be coerced from you or replicated (I have done that myself in uni for a security course). Lockdown mode would be enough HOWEVER, the icon/tile is not displayed when accessing power settings from the cover screen with the phone closed, so I need to open the phone, and do the procedure from there OR restart the phone from the cover screen, neither of which is ideal. SUGGESTION: from lockdown mode I can unlock the phone with the password directly on my cover screen, if I can unlock from lockdown with the phone closed, I should also be able to enter lockdown.
2) I have enabled Secure Folder and set it up to host my sensitive data. I would like to move social media, messaging apps and apps that can use my money (banking app, paypal etc.) to secure folder as well HOWEVER, I cannot seem to get the single, secured, app on my cover screen (native or multistar launcher), and even if I put the whole secure folder on the multistar launcher, I cannot access it with the phone closed (if I tap the icon it asks me to open the phone, and only after opening the phone it asks for my secure folder credentials). This totally defeats the purpose of having a cover screen AND secured apps. SUGGESTION: make it so you can add single apps from within secure folder to multistar launcher (even better have them available on the native app for those supported, like Whatsapp). When you tap a secured app from the cover screen, simply ask the user to authenticate with their secure folder credentials. Bonus: make this an optional feature (like you do now with notifications with content for apps within secure folder).
Either of these features would be enough to grant an appropriate level of security, both would be ideal and would bring the same level of usability AND security to Z flip phones without giving up on the added benefits of size and cover screen.
Right now my best workaround is moving static files to Secure Folder, and force a restart when I would need Lockdown mode.
If there are temporary workarounds please do let me know
