Watsapp stuck on Initializing on Galaxy S25 Ultra

I tried to transfer the chats from iPhone to S25 Ultra (several times), stuck on the initializing... phase and that's it.

Removed the app, wiped the phone cache, factory settings (twice). Even tried fresh samsung and google accounts. More over, I can't initiate the new session with a different number as it getting stuck on the same screen. Even in the Dual Messenger mode.

Interestingly enough I can make a fresh session inside the whatsapp within the secure folder (that's what driven my to try out factory reset and make new google and samsung accounts). The only thing I haven't tried was to reset me eSIMs

Whatsapp customer support wasn't very useful either

Instead of transferring the data, can you backup your WhatsApp data to google drive on your iPhone? The restore it on the s25u. The iPhone might not let you backup to google drive, if so this won't work annoyingly

Hi! Welcome to the samsung members community!

There's been quite a few reports about WhatsApp having issues, and theyre awhere of it.

What id suggest is using whatsapp business. Its the same but with a few extra features you can ignore. Backup whatsapp on old device and then download whatsapp business and use as you normally would

This is virtually impossible, moreover I can't sign in to any account rn as its getting stuck on that initialization screen infinitely

Interesting, I always thought it's the separate app? I suspect that the chat transfer is no-go for now, but can one sign in with their existing whatsapp account/number? When texted to another person - does it show up within the same chat/conversation?

I don't believe it should make a difference. I believe you're able to back up like normal on business—I've seen a few use this method. I haven't myself, but there are a few threads relating to this.

You can use the same number, yes. It shouldn't be much different to normal WhatsApp.

Maybe worth a playground until a better option is suggested.

It's best to start off with a new account than transferring any previous chats or downloading the business WhatsApp instead.

@Anonymous User: The process of transferring your chats from iOS to Android seems to be slightly different to the Android to Android process that I'm familiar with. If you take a look at the link below from WhatsApp support, then this will walk you through the process step by step.

Just an aside, as it's been mentioned as a possible solution to your issue, WhatsApp support notes that it’s currently not possible to transfer chats from an iPhone to an Android device on WhatsApp Business.
