Transferred number from old network to new network have both numbers

Please can someone help. I was previously with EE and now with o2, they have done a number transfer but when I text some people it comes up as my original number but then when I reply back I get told that the new number has come up? Why is this? Some people my old number works for.

This has happened to me before can take a few days to sort itself out

Yes only lasted a couple of days. Think it can be part of the transfer process while they complete everything
