Hi everyone,
I recently updated my device to the latest software version (One UI 6.1, Android 14, Version E146BXXU7CXK6) on 7th January 2025. Since the update:
- The touch responsiveness has significantly deteriorated, making it difficult to use my phone efficiently.
- The overall speed of the device has slowed down, and it feels less smooth than before.
I’ve tried basic troubleshooting steps like restarting the device and checking for additional updates, but the issue persists.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems after this update? Any suggestions on how to resolve this or improve the touch performance?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I would recommend that you do after each update
If you search the forum, there are a lot of docs on how to do it

Same. My phone (S23 Ultra) seems to be dragging, and apps are extremely slow or won't load. I've cleared the partition cache... didn't help. Super annoying.

I tried that bs suggestion. It seemed to work briefly then problem returned quickly. I tried another suggestion to deactivate some Samsung feature on the web page that tries to shovel a bunch of "preferred" ***** at you on the screen left of the phone home page. That didn't work. Sometimes closing every previously open app can unjam the phone briefly. The bottom line is Samsung totally screwed the pooch with the last update. Is it deliberate, to get you thinking you need an upgraded phone, or is it simply rushing the update out without proper testing, or is it short staffing and incompetence? It could be any of those things. The latest thing I did, was after closing the user opened previous apps, I went to background apps and closed Samsung Play. So far it has helped for a few minutes.

Correction: it was T-mobile Play that I stopped. I may be on to something. My phone pretty much locked up. Touching didn't do anything. I had to lock, unlock to even be able to reach the previous apps screen. For good measure, I dumped all the previous apps. Then I went to "5 apps in background". Once again, I did NOT need to kill the VPN, or my security program, or my twilight blue light filter, or my clock widget. But sure a *****, the damned T-mobile Play process had restarted its ass again. I stopped that, and my touchscreen is as frisky as it ever was. So if you are running a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy A14 5g with the latest security update, this stupid process may be the one turning your phone into a balky POS.

Been there, done that. Works only temporarily if at all. I think I have zeroed in on the culprit. I am a T-mobile customer. And this POS app called T-mobile Play keeps loading in the background. It turns my touchscreen into a balky peace of junk. But when I stop that, everything gets really nice and frisky like my phone was before these updates.

See my reply to robot. If you are a T-mobile customer, go to the previous apps screen and go to "apps in the background" and drive a big bloody stake through the zombie that won't stop coming back called "T-mobile Play". Kill that and you may get your phone back.
