Any help with how to reduce the system storage ( blue bar) would be greatly appreciated. Wiping the cache partition hasn't worked.

You might want to consider backing up your photos, files anything that is using up the storage that way it can free up space. Delete any apps, files that you don't need.

But isn't all this type of stuff showing as minimal on the screen shot I've posted? For example, images only showing at 0.89GB. Or are" images" not the same as photos?

Hi,

Click on the info symbol in the Apps row and allow permission to the file system. The space assigned to System should get redistributed between System and Apps.

Ok. Blue bar shows that you used up all of your storage space. Have you got micro SD card inside your phone slot?

Have you recently got the phone?

I have seen this before when data gets transferred from the old phone.
I think the remedy is to factory reset the phone and set it up again.

If you backup your data and then reset the phone. Restoring from the backup data, you should find that the system storage goes down to where it should be.

Sometimes using Smartswitch and transferring date wirelessly can do odd things

Back up info you need. Factory reset. Then observe the trend.
Factory reset will delete all data, ensure a satisfactory backup
