So I've had this phone for a year now and I've already run out of storage. I noticed at the system manager that the apps take up too much space without me having a lot of apps or them taking up too much storage. I even calculated them myself and they take up about 30GB while the system manager says 70GB. I do clean my chace memory too. Please help me, what's wrong?

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

Go to Device care, Storage—press the apps icon—filter by size, and then delete.

Go to Settings—Apps—under each app, there should be a number/amount they are using—see if this matches up with System care.

It may be a pain, as you mentioned you cleared the cache; it may be worth deleting apps and downloading them again.

  • Hello thank you much for replying!! That's exactly my problem, the numbers do not much up, by adding them up it shows that it should be 30GB but the system care says 70GB

Its always odd when these things happen. I would suggest the best course of action would be to delete apps such as messaging apps, audible/ books etc, clearing their cache and reinstalling

I guess I'll try doing that, thank you for your time!! By the way, is it real that samsung has hidden apps? Because this would make sense. When I get notifications from the system it says 200 apps while I only have 101..

I'm not sure about this; I'm sure some features have increased app storage. My app storage situation is similar to yours in terms of unstated storage use.

Mine is at 59 GB, but it only adds up to about 20 GB. I'm sure there's a reason, whether these are critical files, etc.

In apps, filtering by "installed by you," I have about 147 apps. Unfiltered, it jumps to 611, so I imagine these include important apps for the phone to run.

Have you cleared cache on each individual app?

I find after a week that Google apps already have up to 5gb of cached data so I clear each week or two.

Go to the app I. E.YouTube, press down, click on the I inside a circle, go to storage then clear cache (don't clear data).

Apps 74GB , sort by size , is there app Camera be the first line ? , The Camera app may occupied Daata storage up to xxx GB which cannot uninstall app , cannot delete these Data Storage. then read this
Because Samsung app Camera, Gallery, Photo Editor stored the orginal of every pictures we edited in every folders (not only DCIM/Camera) so that the user can do the revert to the orginal any times. These storages were counted under the Camera app. If you took photo with the watermark, crop, add text, change brightness , etc, the Samsung will keep the one original picture in their INVISIABLE backup which no utility tool to acccess these storage. After UI6.1 the user can reclaim these invisible storages and you will not revert to the orginal for the edited pictures. samsung-Invisible-backup-revert-original.jpg
