Suggestion for routines: More conditions and actions

Hey there,

Recently got a Samsung phone and I'm really impressed by some of the OneUI features like routines. I'd really love to use them more often as they have huge potential but I'm realizing that the lack of conditions and actions makes it hard to do quite a lot of potentially useful things.

I'd thus like to request some stuff:

Conditions:

- Read Sensor data (brightness, tilt, microphone (noise level) and compare it to a value

- Read Brightness and Volume (e.g. for applying a custom EQ profile depending on the volume since higher frequencies travel further)

- Read media playback status (the current "Media being played" condition doesn't pick up my media player at all and yet I can toggle the playback status via the flimsy button on my headphones)

- Read buttons (volume controls, side button, top button, xcover button - I'd love to pause and resume playback via the top button on my phone)

Actions

- Wait for a condition (About this: I like the battery protection feature but 80% of maximum SOC is a bit too low for me, so I added a routine to disable battery protection until the battery reaches 90% at which point battery protection is enabled. This leads to the phone discharging 1% and then recharging that over and over again which I don't think is too good for the battery. I'd like to have it wait for e.g. a charge level of 70% before it starts charging again)

- Control charge behavior (if it charges the battery or not, either one could still accept power from the charger to run the phone directly in case the routine causes the battery to fully discharge and not charge again)

- Media controls (pause, play)

- lock the screen (e.g. when the accelerometer detects a high acceleration it could lock the phone as an anti-theft measure)

- set notification LED color and mode (blink, steady, off)

Any chance that we could get these?

Thanks!

(If anything more comes to my mind, I'll try to put it here. I've only had this phone for two days now)

@burgekin: Which Galaxy device do you have? There are some great suggestions here, some of which have already been implemented on recent Android versions. For instance, Theft protection will lock the device if someone took your device and ran away (Settings > Security and privacy > More security settings > Theft protection > Theft detection lock > On).

Media controls can be activated on your Lock screen via Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Widgets > Music > On.

LED notifications are no longer available on our more recent models

You can set up a routine to adjust the volume and equaliser settings when certain media apps are open e.g. If > Media is being played > YouTube Music > Then > Sounds and vibration > Equaliser > Set this to your preference. A 'volume specific' option is unfortunately not available.

The phone is the  XCover6 Pro - maybe the best somewhat recent phone you can get...

"Theft detection lock" - Ah thanks, neat!

"Media controls can be activated on your Lock screen" - I'd really like to be able to pause and play music without having to take the device out of my pocket. The top button would allow me to do just that...

"LED notifications are no longer available on our more recent models" - Mine still has that, and I really like it, but I haven't been able to use it as I'd like to with routines.

"A 'volume specific' option is unfortunately not available. " - Well that's why I'm suggesting it here :smiling-face:

For media playback control, you can use modes and routines to "ask bixby" to "stop media playback".
