Have you contacted your network provider? If you are changing cards but keeping the same number, it can take a day or two occasionally. Has the new sim card been activated by the network provider.
is the phone locked to a carrier, then simcards from other providers will not work. Did you check that you inserted the sim the right way (I made that mistake once, they are so small now a days), what error message do you get?
