Please remove the preinstalled, uninstallable (without privileges) Meta/Facebook apps from One UI. I've always removed them but thus video with the US Senate is unreal and "normal" non-techy users will.be unaware of how to remove them safely.

They should all be removed [including the hidden Meta Installers etc.] and should never have been forced upon anyone. This is now a security issue IMO and should be dealt with accordingly.

Quick steps to remove (Google is your friend for each step)

Install App Manager
Setup using wireless debugging
Uninstall any app you find with "meta" using App Manager

I don't use Facebook on my Galaxy phones and they never intrude on me despite being pre installed. I can uninstall them too, it's not forced or permanent.

You may not use it but its apps collect data from your phone without permission to form a virtual personality of you, your data is also stored in China which can be accessed by the CCP at any time so yeah. They are possibly still collecting data and I might run Wireshark to see.

Tldr; watch the video

The CIA, NSA and god knows how many other US agencies collect anonymous data from me regardless. Do you think the Chinese government collects anything even remotely useful compared to what Google and any other western corporation/institution/agency does?

Since this is an obvious fear mongering political video, it's possibly breaching forum rules, so perhaps you might refrain from this content.

Get your head out of your backside. This isnt even close to what you've suggested. Scaremongering wouldn't include evidence.

Scaremongering you make people fear rumours, these incidents have hard evidence, they watching the video yeah.

And for clarity. I wint be removing anything that is deemed not only a data security issue for users but may also well be a public security issue.

Fearmonger

"A fearmonger is someone who intentionally spreads fear and anxiety, often by exaggerating risks or dangers, in order to manipulate or control others. They do this by highlighting potential negative outcomes and creating a sense of urgency or panic."

If you can show me the evidence that the Chinese Government are using or gathering information on me and then prove how they are using it for nefarious purposes. The video and by extension, you, are purpetrating the supposed condition that China are using our data, let alone for any nefarious purposes.

Hi @Rewt0r ,

Appreciate your concerns about security, and I've escalated this sensitive matter internally at Samsung.

In the meantime, it's perhaps best for all users to veer away from political discussion.

Thank you.
