Today, 2nd December, when opening the Samsung Messages app I am getting a message asking me to upgrade to Google Messages app. Seems the end of Samsung Messages planned closure is getting nearer.

In order to make the message stop appearing, you need to go to the Google Messages app, navigate to the settings and disable RCS chat. After that, you can go back to Samsung Messages and you shouldn't get the popup about upgrading to Google Messages anymore.

Don't have Google Messages app on my phone at all.  So can't disable anything about it. Getting the pop-up multiple times a day now!

Finally, at least an attempt at an answer.

I just installed Google Messages to try this, but then it said my device (s20 FE) doesn't support RCS anyway. So I uninstalled it.

We'll see if my upgrade notice comes back.

I already saw that Google Messages scans your photos (somehow on-phone, not online???) for NUDES 😳 & yet, they'll "periodically" send your messages out to be scanned to detect spam. So how can they guarantee a nude won't randomly be sent? Or ANY pic? Yeah, uh, will NEVER be allowing that WTF??? Anything involving an online middleman is automatically less safe.

How do I do that? Neither Google messages nor Samsung messages appear in my apps list.

I still see this message at least every 7-10 days.

Did anyone figure out how to stop these messages?
