Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with their Samsung.
A lot of my photos from what I can tell June 2023 to about October 2024 have vanished. I have checked everywhere and can not find them. I then found out I have had a problem with my SD card and I think this is the cause but I am really confused as to why only those pictures have gone missing. These photos were really important to me and now there's just a huge chunk of photos just gone from my phone.

Please if anyone else has had this problem or knows what to do can you please help me.

Do you have Google one 🤔

If you do check if they are under Google photos.

The reason I ask is as Google one as a feature where it will delete photos on your phones once photos have been uploaded to it.

Perhaps there was a period of time where your storage was full, or you set your photos to save to SD card and that's why you've lost that chunk of photos?

Yeah, that might be why

not so long ago, I ran out of storage, so i had to get more, so that could be the problem
Do you know how I could get them back?
My phone says i it can't detect my SD card, so I don't know what to do

Unfortunately from the sounds of it the SD card has corrupted, I'd suggest plugging the SD card directly in to a laptop or PC to see if it can be read, if not contact the SD card manufacturer for further assistance

As far as I can understand the electronics of SD cards, once corrupted the data cannot be retrieved. But a magnetic hard drive it is possible to retrieve some parts of the data.

I don't know if that is true completely, but then again I have a paid ($25/$30 per year) to get 100GB data for storage, that keep my very important files and photos always synced. An additional peace of mind if ever I get my Hard Drive/Flash Card gets corrupted for any reason.
