Persistent unread notification badge on messages, k11+

I am having a Persistent unread notification badge on the 'messages' app of my work phone, k11+ despite I have read all the messages . It is still here despite I tried to reboot the phone. Any other ways that I can get rid of it? Thank you.

K11+ is not a Samsung model. Do you have the correct model code? 

From a quick Google search K11+ looks like an LG model.
