Not happy with One UI7 update, rapid battery drain, and extra tiny indicator icons

The new changes in One UI 7 are horrible. First, the icons are incredibly tiny, which will trouble anybody with visual problems. The battery icon is useless now since I can't see the number indicating how fast this update drains my battery. Second, the update drains the battery much more quickly than any update before. Why do I have to charge my phone twice daily for it to be usable during the day?

How can I go back to the previous update?  This one is not user-friendly or device-friendly.

Hi @Xnibblet  There are different opinions on one UI7, a number are happy with it and see it as an improvement, it is really not a dramatic change. others though have issues.  Whilst the Battery iconmay be a small side for some you can use a widget.

you can make a number of customisations with Good Lock though will not be able to revert everything.  some detail here https://news.samsung.com/global/exploring-good-lock-%E2%91%A0-the-ultimate-personalization-tool-disc...

There are accessibility options such as Vision enhancements including magnifications https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10002540/

you can send Feedback via the  Members App. you cannot roll back via official means (unofficial not advised and may not be possible anyway).

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Subject: One UI 7 Update Severely Degrades S23 Ultra Performance – Immediate Action Required

Dear Samsung Members Team,

I'm writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent One UI 7 update on my Galaxy S23 Ultra (SM-S918B/DS). This update has significantly impaired the device's functionality, transforming a premium smartphone into a source of constant frustration.

Key Issues Experienced:

1. Battery Drain:
Post-update, the battery life has plummeted. Where previously I could go 1.5 days on a single charge, now the device barely lasts 14 hours under similar usage patterns. This issue is widely reported across various forums and communities.

2. Camera Performance:
The camera's night mode, once a standout feature, now produces blurry and noisy images. Zoom functionality, particularly between 3.1x to 29x, results in pixelated photos, and the overall image processing appears overdone.

3. Connectivity Issues:
The device frequently disconnects from 5G networks and Bluetooth devices, disrupting daily activities and communications.

4. User Interface Inconsistencies:
The UI changes have introduced several issues: inconsistent icon sizes, misaligned elements, and a lack of alphabetical order in the app drawer. These alterations have negatively impacted the user experience.

5. Security Concerns:
A critical bug has been identified where private photos stored in the Secure Folder become accessible through auto-generated Stories in the Gallery app, compromising user privacy.

Request for Immediate Action:

Provide an official method to downgrade to One UI 6.1.

Release a comprehensive patch addressing the battery, camera, connectivity, UI, and security issues introduced in One UI 7.

As a loyal Samsung customer who invested significantly in this flagship device, I expect a swift resolution to these problems. The current state of the device post-update is unacceptable, and immediate corrective measures are necessary to restore its functionality and user trust.
Thank you. If anybody of Samsung actually cares.

I don't get it, when people say they can't see the battery percentage, is it the colours? The contrast? Have they activated 'see battery percentage' from Settings or Device Care? The battery pill now it's bigger more than ever. Also this change is coming from Google not Samsung.

My S24U has improved since the update, battery life, screen, camera, customisation. It's just better after the update.

I'm seriously considering buying another vendors phones ( and televisions and sound bars ) because of this update. It appears to pander to the iPhone users and encourage them to be happier with Android. Unfortunately, it adds all the issues you list above and alienates me from Samsung. Sony is becoming an attractive idea all of a sudden. Samsung please tell me you're going to reconsider when sales fall due to this ? I've spent £10's of thousands on Samsung equipment over the years and next job on my agenda today is to find a replacement for all of it. A sad day for Samsung users 😢

I think it's the font and the overlaid bar. I'm old and need reading glasses and the battery bar sucks now 😂

I don't want to buy Chinese because of security concerns, anyone got recommendations for top end Android phones ? Don't care about price, just fed up with this UI and I don't want AI eating my battery...
