So I thought after my last posts I would give Google a go as I guess it's the way Samsung are going in the future, maybe?
Anyway, I replaced my Samsung notes, reminders, calander, Internet, messages etc with the Google ones, and I couldn't hack it. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they would be perfect on a Pixel, but I prefer the look and feel of the samsung apps. So I changed it back late last night. I know it's a personal preference, but I guess for the Z Flip 6 for me it's Samsung all the way. I am even giving Bixby a go (thats painful, but I'll keep at it) .
I really hope Samsung keep supporting their own apps. Just having the transparency on apps is a win for me!

That's why I liked Samsung.

I have two phones on one.

I mostly go all samsung apps.

And then if bored go all google apps and turn it into a glorified pixel. 😊

But I am more samsung then google now.

Best way, Google is a let down especially on security. The RCS messages is naff on Google's side.

Ive seen they are not supporting chat/RCS in the USA from Jan, I guess from the oneUI7 update. I hope we don't lose it in the UK.

It is more secure than WhatsApp. Google RCS is very stable.

Even though I don't use Samsung Messages, the app still accesses my text messages. I'm not happy about that.

Can Samsung messages be disabled if you don't use it??

It can be disabled, but I haven't done that, I don't know if it would have any impact. I don't use Facebook either, but when I disabled it, the phone became a little buggy, so I enabled it again and I'm just upgrading it, and it's in deep sleep mode.

I suppose I'm on both sides of the fence. I prefer Google messages, Google calendar and Chrome. I also use maps, Gmail, Google wallet, Google Photos and Google lens. I prefer Samsung gallery, Samsung my files, Samsung health and Samsung notes. Don't see that I have to be one or the other but I like to have a choice. I tried a Pixel phone but still prefer Samsung.

I've put Google messages back on as I seem to get the notice to upgrade every time I go on my Samsung messages. I don't like it though. I've set up Gmail and the calender app, along with tasks for Google assistant (far superior over Bixby), however, I think reminders and samsung calender look better, and the samsung mail app allows me to see garmin connect from Outlook calender. However, I can't have that now as Google calender doesn't work with Outlook calender.
Let's see how long it lasts before I switch back!
