Modes and routine action to turn off device / Lock screen

Could there be an action option to lock your phone back to the lock screen when triggered.

My goal is to essentially press the button on my smart tag 2 and it'll lock my phone.

My route to doing this is in the smarthings app, It will be set so when pressing the button on the smart tag then it will send a notification to my device.

Then will set up a routine on my phone to detect notifications for that specifically to then lock the device.

Hello and welcome, sadly the Smart Tag2 button automations are a bit limited, you can automate the button press or hold to THEN run a routine, but the IF is your problem, as that cannot be a routine also.

Well to be honest modes and rountines don't supports that officially but still you can do it with the help of 3rd party app.

1. So first download any app which just lock your phone on open.

2. Then just on actions in routine or a mode just add open a app and select that app which lock the phone

Note: the lock app needs be set as unrestricted in battery optimisation however also note the this thing will automatically block your biometric unlock because phone was locked with a 3rd party app but still it's the best way to do this thing.

Security: this kind of app have access of your accessibility, and device admin so better be careful don't use mods and only download the app from play store and see the reviews and the number of downloads before getting those kinds of apps

Can Samsung just add an option to routines - lock phone. And also what happens when timer runs out.
