Messages default app

Hi there! 

 Is there a way to downgrade the default messages app, I have a Samsung Galaxy S8, when I first got my phone in 2017 there were so many settings on the S8 it was like having a mini computer since then unfortunately with the new software updates these features have been vanishing, is there a way of going back to the old versions default built in apps without downgraded the software?

You cannot modify any system apps without root access. So your only option would be going back

(rooting can cause serious issues/problems and is not guaranteed to allow system app changes) 

I would also recommend that you look into good lock as this can bring back some great features they removed
