Mail app doesn't show custom folders

Hi,

I have connected Mail app with my Outlook account. The problem is that the email app doesn't show custom-made folders that I have created using the Outlook web version. I have archived mail into those folders but I'm not able to access them via app because they are not shown. If I go to settings, I'm only able to turn on syncing with folders like inbox, sent etc my custom folders are not shown.

Thanks - this worked for me, too. Was getting a bit desperate!

Thanks, Pietricello!  This fix also works for displaying Gmail subfolders in Samsung Email.  The only difference is that you create the temporary "TEST" folder under the [gmail] folder, not the INBOX folder.  I was going crazy trying to figure this out so really appreciate your taking the time to share your solution!   (Solution applied on a Samsung S23 Ultra phone, 21Dec23)

Just to make it clear: this solution not only works for Outlook-Mailboxes but also for other types of mailboxes.

A huge thank you, Pietricello!

I'm not connected to any other email app and I still can't see my sub folders in my inbox.  I did the dummy email and changed syncing and it didn't work.  Any help?

Hi, I am not sure what you mean by dummy email??? Once you have setup your email account and you are in your inbox, click on the hamburger menu on the top left, scroll to the bottom and select + Add Folder. Next, select your Inbox as the folder in which to add the dummy folder. Name the folder anything you like and complete the add...All of your sub-folders should now sync and show up. Good luck!

I know it's been a while since your post but was looking on here for a similar problem.  To resolve, all I did was delete the account from my phone and then add the account again but use IMAP instead of POP3,  Should be able to see all folders then.  Hope that helps

I am having this problem (on my wife's phone) as well, but I do not have the +Add Folder. I have changed the server settings to the IMAP from POP3 and no change but I am unable to change from 995 to 993. We can see the difference between her phone and mine.
