Hi,
I have connected Mail app with my Outlook account. The problem is that the email app doesn't show custom-made folders that I have created using the Outlook web version. I have archived mail into those folders but I'm not able to access them via app because they are not shown. If I go to settings, I'm only able to turn on syncing with folders like inbox, sent etc my custom folders are not shown.

I did every single thing recommended in this thread. Zero result.

Hi Peter, did you add it as a root folder? I did the same thing but it doesn't work for me.

Hi Andelka,
yes i did add it just under "Inbox" as i have a lot of subfolders sorted under Inbox on my IMAP server.
I don't know if it works on other accounts such as for instance GMail as it use labels and it's a bit messy and i do not use it so much.

Thanks so much - I tried adding it under the inbox as you said, but then only 5 of maybe 50 folders populated. I am using outlook on my PC and then just Samsung mail on my phone. I am trying to figure out why only certain folders populated and not others, do you have any idea why? When I look in my outlook and click on the folder properties of the ones that did populate, and choose the viewing options of those folders in Outlook, the options are "compact, single or preview". When I look at the viewing options of the folders that do not appear, the viewing options are "IMAP MESSAGE, HIDE MESSAGE, GROUP MESSAGE or PREVIEW", I am not sure why they are different but I am nervous to change anything as I am not sure what I am doing haha

Well it's not so easy to give you an answer as i'm just a normal user who found this kind of trick. In my scenario i have about 12 subfolders under inbox and each of them has another subfolder (Sent Mail) , so we are speaking about 25 subfolder. I don't know if there are limits in the number of subfolders app can handle.
Also in Samsung Mail you have to select which subfolder has to be sync or not but this should not prevent at least to show them all.
What else? Do not mess up too much Outlook if it works , it seems problem is not there but: ensure your subfolders are marked as visible in the server structure. Providers like GMail as long as i can remember require you to check which folders will be visible to connected email clients. In 2 words: whatever you see the whole structure in Gmail if the subfolder are not marked as visible on IMAP , Samsung Mail like other clients won't see them at all. Unfortunately i can't say more than this 😞

Well thank you very much for your kind response! I might just have to call Microsoft 365 and ask for some support 🙂
