I absolutely HATE the sudden reading of my text messages out loud ... sitting at my desk and "YOU HAVE A TEXT MESSAGE FROM ".  then it goes on to read the private message to my colleagues, mom, boss ...  I cant figure out how to turn it off, pretty sure a hammer will solve it but that will probably void my warranty... right ?

Can anyone help  me out?!

Just go to Settings>Accessibility>Screen Reader>Settings>Read Caller ID Aloud> and turn it off.

In case someone has this problem still I found my answer to it. It was in the app called " caller name announcer pro. Under SMS setting SPEAK SMS Message was turned on. Turned it off .

Thanks for the suggestion, but that doesn't help me.  I uninstalled Bixby months ago and do not have this option.  I do use Android Auto though, probably a similar setting I suppose.

On my phone, Bixby is uninstalled entirely, and I still have this issue.  I've been looking at the suggestions from other users, and not one of them works so far.  Worse, for several of the suggestions, I do not have a path to follow due to being unable to select some of the things I'm supposed to look for and select.  I am using a Samsung Galaxy A14 5G phone, and the latest update installed on 1/23 when I told it to wait until I was home from vacation on 1/26.  One UI version 6.1, android version 14.

Samsung told me my phone was getting an update, and offered me the option to pause it.  I told it to pause for 3 days, it appeared to accept my setting, and a few hours later at 3am, it installed anyway.  Frankly I'm PISSED at both Samsung and Google at this point.  I like using Android Auto and appreciate the hands-free operation, but when that is not connected, it should NOT read my messages aloud.  Whoever programmed this sh*t should be fired immediately, for lack of adequate testing.

Apparently my only workaround for this issue is to keep my volume turned all the way down to silent.
