Hello Samsung Team and Community,
I’ve been using my Samsung Galaxy A73 5G for the past 3 years without any issues. But just two weeks after updating to One UI 7, a green line suddenly appeared in the center of my screen. There was no physical damage, drops, or mishandling involved — the issue started on its own after the update.
When I visited the Samsung service center, they asked me to contact customer care. When I contacted customer care, they told me to go back to the service center. When I emailed Samsung support, they again told me to visit the store. I'm stuck in a loop, and no one is taking ownership of the issue.
To make things worse, the service center said that only S-series phones are eligible for free screen replacement for green line issues. For my A73, they are demanding ₹10,000 for screen replacement.
Why should I pay for a problem that clearly came from a Samsung software update?
Is support only given to people who buy flagship phones?
I trusted Samsung and have invested in the entire Samsung ecosystem, but this experience has truly disappointed me. What’s the point of buying a premium device if the company won’t take responsibility for software-induced faults?
Please take this matter seriously and offer a free screen replacement for A-series users as well. This is not a user-caused problem — it’s a hardware issue triggered by your own update.
If this isn’t resolved, I’ll be forced to raise the matter to the Consumer Forum of India and I will not recommend Samsung devices to anyone.
Other brands like OnePlus offering lifetime free screen replacements for green line issues. Why not Samsung?
Device: Samsung Galaxy A73 5G
Software Version: One UI 7
Issue: Green line appeared after 2 weeks of update
Service Center Response: ₹10,000 replacement cost, no free support for non-S series
Experience: Frustrating and disappointing
Please take action and resolve this issue fairly for all users.
Thank you.

This line on your phone probably appeared after dropping it too many times OR an app is causing this to happen. Have you dropped it in the past? If not, do you have any apps that you've enabled Appear on top?
Thanks,

@techykidytNo, I haven’t dropped my phone, and there are no physical damage marks either. The service center also confirmed that there’s no external damage. This issue started only after updating to One UI 7, and it clearly seems to be a software-related issue.

and I don’t have any apps with “Appear on top” permission enabled that could have caused this. It clearly seems to be a software-related issue.

Referring back to your original post
https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/mobile-apps-services/green-line-appeared-suddenly-after-one-ui-0...
"As @ChrisB_ said "May I ask, are you located in India? If so, then I would recommend reaching out to the Samsung Support team in your region, as will be able to offer some additional assistance"
That would be a helpful question to answer.
But- youre asking in the wrong place for such a request....these forums are for customers to post for other customers... moderators can point you in the right direction but cannot provide such a request directly. Id suggest contacting samsung support directly via whatever channel is available in your region"
Saying that- Im unsure if theres anything you can do, I have absolutely no idea how samsung work in your region.

I hope/ assume their intent wasn't to blame and simply ask if it had been dropped—more of a general question than an accusation
